What does "Blur" mean?

Established in 2018, Blur Barbershop began in an 88 degree garage with an old styling chair positioned under a utility light in North Haven, CT. Blur is a reference to a flawless fade. When a fade is "blurry," it means there are no distinctive lines present in a haircut leaving only a seamless transition from short length to long length.

From the garage, Blur Barbershop relocated to a small, two chair, second story rental space on Washington Ave in North Haven. That space was rapidly outgrown as the influx of business increased over time. Walk-ins were waiting in the hallway of the unit, and it became apparent that expanding the business was the only viable option.

2019 brought Blur Barbershop to its current location at 278 State St in North Haven, CT. Starting with only Angelo and Joe in the front of the barbershop, Blur now holds eight barbers that spin their chairs day in and day out. Many barbers were once clients of Angelo or Joe and joined the team after seeing the potential of what being a barber could be. These barbers consistently define the culture of Blur and what we strive to create!

Our doors are open to everyone, and it is of our utmost priority to maintain a relaxing and respectful environment for all of our guests. Walk-Ins are always welcome, however, appointments are preferred. We hope to see you in one of our chairs soon!

BLUR IN BRANFORD

​​After 7 years of working together, Joe & Angelo decided to partner up and expand Blur's

presence to the CT shoreline town of Branford! Established 8/1/2025. Doors open on Tuesday, November 11th 2025! We are excited to see both old and new faces as we embark on this familiar, yet unfamiliar journey.
